Ms. Steele has been the Dean for Student Engagement since Fall 2015, coming to Longwood from her previous post as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Co-Curricular Life at Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Virginia. Cheryl loves talking with students and serves in multiple other advisor roles for various student organizations. Cheryl holds a Bachelor's Degree in History/ Social Science and a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of Montevallo in Alabama.
Dr. Tim Pierson
Dr. Pierson is the University’s Vice President for Student Affairs and oversees areas including student housing, campus dining, recreation, student conduct and integrity, the counseling center, fraternity and sorority life, and campus police. He has worked at Longwood since 1992 and served as Vice President for Student Affairs since 2000. He previously served in student affairs positions at Willamette University and Michigan State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Central Michigan University and a doctorate in higher education administration from Michigan State University.
Ms. Cox currently serves as the Director of Local and Community Relations, working with the Town of Farmville, local businesses, and the area Chamber of Commerce to cultivate and maintain a relationship with the University. Previously serving as the Director of Commuter Life, Off-Campus Living Area Coordinator, and Residence Education Coordinator, Jen has worked with both students, professional, and community members to make both Farmville and Longwood a better place for all. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Christopher Newport University and a Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration from Vilanova University and has been at Longwood since June 2007.
